AAIM Supports the LGBTQ+ Community

AAIM Supports All LGBTQ+ Faculty, Administrators, Learners, and Patients

In recognition of Pride Month and the recent ruling by the US Supreme Court that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 confirming workplace discrimination protections extend to gay and transgender workers, the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) speaks out in support of all LGBTQ+ faculty, administrators, learners, and patients, and their right to be treated equitably in all professional, personal, and health care environments.

As indicated in the deliverables from AAIM’s diversity, equity, and inclusion, statement, AAIM is committed to supporting, understanding, and championing the LGBTQ community to ensure all members and staff feel welcome and included in the academic internal medicine community.

The Alliance is Even Better Together.  AAIM encourages you to share your feedback and ideas for ways the organization can support the LGBTQ community. Connect with your academic internal medicine colleagues through the AAIM Diversity and Inclusion Community discussion forum as well as in the other member association forums.

Sincerely,
