How to Become an Alliance Leader

One of the most important ways members engage with AAIM is by volunteering to serve as a leader, providing insight and direction for both the organization and internal medical education. Each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) the Alliance opens a call for council nominations and a call for committee volunteers. All members who meet the criteria below are eligible for nomination. Full details and application information are provided when calls open.

All AAIM leaders are expected to be members in good standing* and have read and abide by both of the following documents:

Please email governance@im.org with any questions.

* Members in good standing are those with no ethics complaints whose institutions have paid dues for the current fiscal year.

Committee Volunteers

The AAIM call for committee volunteers takes place from approximately March to June and seeks to fill the rosters of  Alliance committees and task forces. Committees determine whether to accept volunteers each year, and members are chosen from their respective pools of applicants.
