FY 2025 Call for Council Nominations

Thank you for your interest in serving on an association or constituent council in FY 2025.  AAIM has changed the councilor nomination to a form-based self-nomination process.  Although you must be a current member to nominate yourself, councils have different requirements for councilor eligibility.  All councilor terms are three years.  Members may nominate themselves for only one open council position per year.

All FY 2025 council nominations were due Wednesday, October 11, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

The Alliance seeks governance that represent the broad diversity of its membership, in terms of individual sex, race, gender identity, ethnicity, and sexual orientation as well as institution type, program size, patient population, and location.

Council Expectations

Individuals elected to councils are expected to:

  • Be able to serve a three-year term.
  • Abide by “Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations for AAIM Volunteer Leaders.”
  • Register for and attend Alliance conferences.
  • Attend in-person council summit held in mid-July (travel and one night housing reimbursed).
  • Attend council meeting held in conjunction with Academic Internal Medicine Week (Saturday prior to conference; one night housing reimbursed).
  • Actively participate in conference calls (quarterly for all except CDIM and MPPDA, which are monthly; 60 minutes each for all except APDIM, which are 90 minutes).
  • Step down from any active committee positions by June 30, 2024.
  • Advocate for the Alliance, including representing AAIM opinions to other organizations, requesting payment of dues from nonpaying members, and encouraging members to register for conferences.
  • Understand the decisions and plans of the council are subject to approval and resourcing by the AAIM Board of Directors.

Committed to Diversity

AAIM seeks candidates that represent the broad diversity of its membership, in terms of individual sex, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation as well as institution size, type, patient population, and location.
