At its June meeting, the AAIM Board of Directors approved a new mission statement for the Alliance:
The Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) promotes the advancement and professional development of its members who prepare the next generation of internal medicine physicians and leaders through education, research, engagement, and collaboration.
As part of the FY 2020 strategic planning process, the board approved the new mission statement and is working with volunteer leaders and senior staff to revise the AAIM vision statement as well as develop a new diversity, equity, and inclusion impact statement. These statements will be launched in fall 2019. During its day-long strategic planning retreat held in Alexandria July 15, the board focused its work on key aspects of the new mission statement to ensure alignment. More information about future strategic planning efforts will be shared on the AAIM website and via email.
