Thalamus Resources for Internal Medicine

Thalamus is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) that partnered with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in 2023 to advance innovation in the transition space from medical student to practicing physician.  Thalamus developed products to help streamline applications, screening, and interview processes to drive holistic review.  Thalamus offers both complimentary and fee-based products to assist residency and fellowship faculty and administrators navigate the application and recruitment cycle.

Since 2023, AAIM and Thalamus have met quarterly to share data and discuss challenges the GME community regularly encounters in their application screening, interview, and scheduling operations.  These meetings have also explored opportunities to enhance Thalamus products and share best practices for communicating innovations and support resources with the internal medicine community, with the aim of streamlining the application, interview, and scheduling process.

A comprehensive summary of available offerings is provided on the AAMC-Thalamus Collaboration page. The information below describes Thalamus’s products, support resources, and enhancements to their offerings.

Your feedback is valuable.  Send comments to educationandresearch@im.org, and the AAIM Residency Application Process Work Group will share these with Thalamus during its quarterly meetings.
