March is Women’s History Month

The Alliance celebrates Women’s History Month! By presidential proclamation, the month of March celebrates the contributions women have made to the United States and recognizes the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history.

More than one-third (37.6%) of the active physician workforce in the United States identified as female (refer to Physicians in All Specialties). Additionally, according to this 2023 report, individuals identifying as female comprise more than 50% of all medical school enrollees in the United States, marking a significant milestone in gender representation in the medical field.
