Getting Your Projects Across the Finish Line: Concrete Strategies for Effective Project Management

When:  May 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (ET)

Medical educators all juggle multiple roles and responsibilities, including clinical work, educational responsibilities, and administrative tasks. The initial excitement about a nascent project often leads  to later disappointment or shame when project deadlines are missed  or the idea is not executed as originally conceived.  In this webinar, presenters will discuss the Process Groups model from the field of project management as a framework. Through this lens, presenters will identify a toolkit of behaviors that have facilitated effective project management, including time blocking, goal setting, focusing priorities/progress, working meetings, and incorporating technology. Presenters will share experiences highlight where common pitfalls occur in project management—particularly in GME—and illustrate where application of the toolkit will usher successful completion of a given project or project phase.

Presenters:  Andrea Poisson Irani, MD; Delany Goulet, MD, FACP; Jonathan Salud, MD, MPH; Lonika Sood, MBBS, MHPE
