Imposter Syndrome

First explained in the 1978 by psychologists Suzanne Imes, PhD, and Pauline Rose Clance, PhD, Merriam-Webster states that impostor syndrome is a psychological condition that is characterized by persistent doubt concerning one's abilities or accomplishments accompanied by the fear of being exposed as a fraud despite evidence of one's ongoing success. According to Psychology Today, imposter syndrome is experienced more by women, in particular, women of color.

Intersectionality

Coined in a 1989 paper by legal scholar Kimberle’ Crenshaw, Merriam-Webster defines intersectionality as the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups.
