Founded in 1989, Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM) is the organization of individuals responsible for teaching internal medicine to medical students; the association represents third year clerkship directors, ICM course directors, subinternship directors, clerkship administrators and coordinators, clinical preceptors, and other faculty and staff involved in undergraduate medical education.
CDIM Member Categories
- Clerkship Director: Internal medicine clerkship director (category limited to one per institution)
- Education Administrator: Individuals who do not have responsibility for teaching internal medicine to medical students but support the programs that teach internal medicine to medical students (e.g., clerkship coordinator, clerkship administrator)
- Physician/Non-Physician Educator: Individuals who teach or have responsibility for teaching internal medicine to medical students (e.g., associate clerkship director, clerkship site director, associate professor)
