What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine, and when did you realize it was the right path for you?
My work in medical education and trainee development has allowed me to combine a lifelong connection to medicine with my interests in mentorship, education, and student support. Working within Geriatrics has also been especially meaningful on a personal level. I value the specialty’s emphasis on compassion, interdisciplinary collaboration, and caring for patients in a holistic and human-centered way. Being able to contribute to the education and development of future physicians in this field has been incredibly rewarding and has reinforced that this is the right path for me.
Which aspect of your work brings you the greatest fulfillment?
I enjoy the collaborative nature of medical education, working alongside faculty, staff, and trainees to create educational experiences that are both impactful and supportive. Seeing our students and trainees gain confidence, explore new specialties, or make important career connections reminds me why this work matters.
How do you envision your AAIM membership contributing to your professional growth and career development?
I see my AAIM membership as an opportunity to continue learning from professionals who are equally passionate about medical education, mentorship, and trainee development. I am excited by the chance to engage with a broader network of colleagues, share ideas and best practices, and stay informed about evolving trends and challenges in this field.
Who or what has been the most influential source of inspiration in your journey, and why?
My family has been the greatest source of inspiration in my journey, particularly my late father, who was both a physician and a gifted educator. Growing up around medicine gave me an early appreciation for the compassion, lifelong learning, and sense of responsibility that the profession requires. What stood out most to me, though, was the way he genuinely cared about helping others learn, grow, and feel supported.
That example shaped the way I approach my own work in medical education and learner development. It reinforced for me that healthcare is not only about clinical knowledge, but also about empathy, collaboration, and investing in the next generation. His influence continues to inspire the way I support students and develop educational experiences.
Outside of work, what activities or hobbies bring you joy?
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, painting, embroidery, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. These activities allow me to be creative, stay curious, and recharge, while also helping me feel connected to the people and experiences that matter most to me!
