Since 2010

What is your favorite part of your job?

Teaching and mentoring learners (medical students and residents).

How has the AAIM membership been of value to you and your career?

Knowledge acquired from previous conferences and networking with other program directors.
Committee membership helped bring a group of us together to write a paper on GME diversity.

When did you know you wanted to pursue a career in the medical field?

Growing up in the shadow of an uncle who was an anesthesiologist and whose life and work I greatly admired.  

What or who inspires you and why?

My late uncle who role modeled work ethic and professionalism combined with empathy for his patients and their families.

What advice would you give to those who wish to pursue a career in this industry?

Pursue the 3 P’s-Always be prepared, persevere when you fail and always aim for perfection.
