AAIM Joins More Than 30 Organizations Expressing Concern About Eliminating Clinical Trials From K Award Programs

The Alliance signed on to a letter written by the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) regarding proposed revisions to the K award portfolio. While the changes would simplify the K portfolio, they would eliminate independent clinical trials from K awards - an important pathway for clinician-scientists. ASCI, AAIM, and the more than 30 cosignatories agree that this pathway should not be closed before a comparable alternative has demonstrated similarly effective outcomes.
