Virtual Conduct Statement

AAIM is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all virtual meeting participants and has zero tolerance for any type of unacceptable behavior at our meetings. AAIM reserves the right to take any action deemed appropriate and necessary, including immediate removal from the virtual meeting site without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior as well as the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting, virtually or in person. All participants, including but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, Alliance staff, service providers, and other invited guests are required to abide by the AAIM Virtual Programs Code of Conduct. 

Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to 

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.  
  • Verbal or written demeaning, intimidating, coercive, abusive, harassing/hostile conduct or commentary, whether seriously or in jest toward any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, AAIM staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest. 
  • Examples of abuse include, but are not limited to, verbal or written comments related to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, or threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, AAIM staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.  

In addition, unless expressly approved through a partnership agreement, presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. AAIM reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations.  Participants should not copy or take screen shots of session recordings, Q&Aor session chat activity that takes place in the virtual space. 

Any conference participant that experiences or witnesses harassment or misconduct should report their concerns to meetings@im.org for appropriate follow up by AAIM staff.
