Diversity Award

The AAIM Diversity Award is presented to an individual who has effectively improved diversity within a medical school or who has worked to ensure patients of all races and ethnicities receive the highest quality of care.

Special Recognition Award

Formerly the APM Special Recognition Award, the AAIM Special Recognition Award is presented annually to the individual who has contributed most to helping the alliance meet its mission which "fosters the advancement of learning, discovery, and caring by enhancing the professional growth of academic internal medicine faculty, administrators, and physicians-in-training.

AIM Distinguished Service Award

The AIM Distinguished Service Award recognizes an AIM member who has made significant contributions to the field of administration of academic internal medicine.

APDIM Distinguished Medical Educator Award

The APDIM Distinguished Medical Educator Award recognizes an individual or a team for outstanding contributions to the field of graduate medical education.

APDIM Program Administrator Service Award

The APDIM Program Administrator Service Award is presented annually each spring to a current or former program administrator who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association.

APDIM Dema C. Daley Founders Award

The APDIM Dema C. Daley Founders Award honors a member of the internal medicine community recognized nationally as an educator, innovator, and leader. Past recipients’ contributions have influenced areas of undergraduate and graduate medical education and the development of training programs in internal medicine, APDIM, or other organizations that are educationally focused.

APM Robert H. Williams, MD Distinguished Chair of Medicine Award

The Robert H. Williams, MD, Distinguished Chair of Medicine Award is presented annually by APM to a physician who has demonstrated outstanding leadership as the chair of a department of internal medicine.

ASP Eric G. Neilson, MD, Distinguished Professor Award

Named for the association’s founder, the ASP Eric G. Neilson, MD, Distinguished Professor Award recognizes a leader who has shaped the internal medicine specialties landscape. The award acknowledges and promotes the work of outstanding leaders to bring about change for specialty medicine and the internal medicine community.

CDIM Charles H. Griffith, III, MD, Educational Research and Scholarship Award

The CDIM Charles H. Griffith, III, MD, Educational Research and Scholarship Award is presented annually to a CDIM member who has contributed greatly to educational research.

CDIM Early Career Medical Student Educator Award

The CDIM Early Career Medical Student Educator Award is a new award that recognizes innovation and excellence in medical student education by a CDIM member at the instructor or assistant professor level.

CDIM Linda J. Marts Administrator Service Award

The CDIM Linda J. Marts Administrator Service Award is presented annually to a CDIM education administrator member who has contributed greatly to the association.

CDIM Louis N. Pangaro, MD, Educational Program Development Award

The CDIM Louis N. Pangaro, MD, Educational Program Development Award is presented annually to a CDIM member who has contributed to the development of an outstanding educational program.

CDIM Ruth-Marie E. Fincher, MD, Service Award

The CDIM Ruth-Marie E. Fincher, MD, Service Award is presented annually to a CDIM member who has contributed greatly to the association.

MPPDA Leadership in Med-Peds Award

The MPPDA Leadership in Med-Peds Award is a new award given to a physician who has made signficant contribution to Medicine-Pedatrics (Med-Peds) as a profession.

MPPDA Walter W. Tunnessen, Jr., MD, Award

The MPPDA Walter W. Tunnessen, Jr., MD, Award honors a graduating medicine-pediatrics resident who demonstrates many of the qualities that were admired in Dr. Tunnessen. Recognizing Dr. Tunnessen’s dedication and gifts as an educator, clinician, and advocate for children, MPPDA has established this award in his honor.

MPPDA Brendan Kelly Award

The Brendan Kelly Award is to be awarded annually by the MPPDA to an Associate Program Director of a Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program who demonstrates the teaching excellence, collaborative leadership, and compassionate patient care that Dr. Kelly modeled so well. Program Directors may nominate an Associate Program Director who shall be in their position as APD at the time of the annual MPPDA meeting.
