Post, read, or reply to a discussion board:
1. Go to www.im.org. Although the website will open in all web browsers, the discussion board software is most compliant with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. Click on "Sign In" at the top, right side of the screen.
3. Log-in to www.im.org using your username and password. You will be automatically directed to the "My AAIM" page. If you have previously logged-on to the website, but do not know your password, please use the following link to retrieve your password http://www.im.org/Pages/passwordRecovery.aspx. If you need your username, use the following link to retrieve your username http://www.im.org/Pages/usernameRecovery.aspx.
4. On the right side of the screen, there is a box titled "MyMemberships." All of the discussion boards that you may participate in are listed.
5. Select the discussion board.
• To create a new thread, select “New.”
• To read an existing thread, select the subject line.
• To respond to an existing thread, select the subject line, then select “Reply” in the upper right corner of the thread.
Alerts for new or updated posts
Each discussion board offers an alert system that notifies users by email about postings on the discussion board. The alert can be customized to specific types of posts (for example, alerts for new posts only or alerts when existing threads have been updated) and at a specified frequency (for example, immediately, daily, or weekly).
1. From the primary Discussion Board screen, select “Action.”
2. Select “Alert Me” from the rollover menu.
3. Choose a title (name for your alert), type (which posts you would like an alert for: all, new only, etc.), filter, and frequency (immediately, daily, or weekly) for the alert.
4. Select “Okay” to save the alert.
