ASP Education Committee
Chaired by Mark W. Geraci, MD
The education committee is charged with developing policies, educating members, and implementing programs focused on the educational, accreditation, and certification processes for subspecialty internal medicine fellowships and physicians-in-training; overseeing ASP’s role in promoting the ERAS Fellowships; and creating in-service examinations for internal medicine fellows.
ASP Geriatrics Steering Committee
Chaired by Kevin P. High, MD
The geriatrics committee is charged with overseeing the ASP Geriatrics Development Initiative, which includes the T. Franklin Williams Scholars Program, and developing new projects focused on integrating geriatrics into the internal medicine specialties.
ASP Member Services Committee
Chaired by John P. Flaherty, MD
The member services committee is charged with overseeing ASP's four membership categories; improving ASP's member services to increase, strengthen, and better represent the association's membership; strengthening ASP's organizational structure; selecting the annual recipient of the ASP Eric G. Neilson, MD, Distinguished Professor Award; and planning the "ASP Seminar: Meeting the Review Committee for Internal Medicine Requirements for Internal Medicine Fellowship Programs."
ASP Task Force on Teaching and Applying Quality Principles
Chaired by David Daikh, MD, PhD
The task force on teaching and applying quality principles in the ambulatory setting is charged with developing a career development award for junior faculty with an interest in quality improvement, while creating a system (i.e., promotion and tenure) for professional development; creating a clearinghouse for quality improvement resources, best practices, curricula; and developing a white paper on teaching and applying quality improvement into the academic internal medicine and ambulatory setting.
