About ASP: Sponsorship
Industry and academia have a mutual interest in ensuring excellence in the training of subspecialty internists. ASP partners with organizations to
- Provide programs for its members,
- Disseminate information to subspecialty divisional leaders,
- Continue improving the quality of subspecialty internal medical education.
- Provide avenues for professional development to current and future leaders of academic internal medicine

ASP also works with government agencies as well as certifying and accrediting bodies to enhance the quality and ensure the viability of academic subspecialty divisions.
ASP has partnered with several organizations to provide activities, programs, and initiatives (link to activities page) designed to help subspecialty divisions meet their educational, research, and clinical care missions.
ASP Geriatrics Development Initiative
ASP has partnered with the Hartford Foundation and several subspecialty societies to provide geriatric research grants to junior faculty. The Geriatrics Development Initiative is a collaborative program to provide $150,000 over two years to new subspecialists interested in researching the geriatric aspects of their subspecialties.
AAIM Executive Leadership Program
AAIM, of which ASP is a member, has developed a week-long professional development program for leaders in the departments of internal medicine. The AAIM Executive Leadership Program offers departmental faculty and staff opportunities to learn about strategy formulation and programming, leadership and change management, organizational management, financial management, and operations management.
