Precourse for New Program Directors, Associate Program Directors and Program Administrators
Course Description
This interactive precourse is designed to provide new program directors, associate program directors, and program administrators with an intense one-day educational experience (plenary, workshop, and small group sessions) led by experienced faculty and staff. Participants will develop a “toolbox” of practical knowledge and skills to develop as a leader and manager. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop a network of new and experienced program directors, associate program directors, and program administrators.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this precourse, participants will be able to:
- Understand the timeline, structure, and administrative requirements of the academic year.
- Understand competency-and milestones-based assessment and reporting requirements.
- Obtain practical knowledge of how to structure and run an effective residency program and as well as sustain a rewarding career in medical education.
Who Should Attend
This precourse is designed for residency program directors, associate program directors, and program administrators with fewer than three years experience in their roles.
