Transcending the Mentee to Mentor Divide: Leveraging Advanced Career Development Training to Become

When:  Nov 12, 2025 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)
Effective early mentoring is essential for propelling early academic careers.  There is a growing cohort of junior faculty with advanced skills in medical education and research through a chief residency, fellowship, or advanced degrees:  ”senior-junior” faculty.  These senior-junior faculty often enter junior faculty positions alongside recent residency graduates, leaving their skillset untapped. Senior-junior faculty are uniquely both challenged and poised to establish their expertise and set themselves apart. By leveraging their unique skills as a near-peer mentor, these individuals can build connections and reach career goals more cohesively and rapidly.  In this webinar, presenters will discuss creating a professional identity, identifying opportunities to becoming a near-peer mentor, and review a framework to navigate the near-peer mentor role.
