An often overlooked foundational piece of faculty development is improving our bedside patient interactions. Medical student empathy declines during clerkships, contributing to burnout and patient depersonalization. This session will emphasize the importance of compassionate patient care to combat burnout and make us better teachers and doctors. The session will then outline several specific and tangible tips for the audience to focus on the next time they are caring for patients and teaching learners.
