00:13:46 Sheila Costa: Networking is always better with cameras on! 00:23:13 Allen Mead: Our organization estimated that it saves ~$60,000 annually per employee to switch to remote. 00:24:28 Brian David: Hi Allen. $60K ! ? I'd love to know how they calculate that. Are they including childcare or costs of that sort? 00:26:00 Angela Metcalf: Also, curious of what the 60k includes? 00:27:29 Allen Mead: I don't know the exact inputs, but assume (to Nancy's point) it is mostly facilities costs. We have a fair amount of temporary space that we wouldn't need. Also, there is support costs (e.g., environmental services, security), office equipment, computers/network, etc. 00:28:43 Brian David: Sorry, I misread what you wrote as the employee saves $60K which of course doesn't make sense. The way you Allen describe makes more sense. Thanks. 00:47:07 Allen Mead: Need to sign off. Have a great rest of the week everyone and thanks for engaging in this webinar! 00:47:27 Nancy Dernelle: Is anyone requiring vaccines to work in the office? 00:47:44 Rania Omar Burke: yes - 100% requirement by both BU and BMC 00:47:48 Serena Loya: UCSF is requiring vaccine 00:47:48 Brian David: We have a vaccine mandate regardless of remote or in office work. So moot point for us. 00:48:06 Janet Sabuco: not U of Arizona. 00:48:26 Cathy O'Neill: Duke is mandating vaccines for all staff - even for staff working remotely (unless you have approved expeption) 00:49:52 SHERI L LAWRENCE: At Univ of WI, the campus isn't mandating vaccine; however, we have a 92%+ vaccine rate among employees and students on campus. If not vaccinated, weekly testing is required. For our Medical Center they are mandating vaccine (or religious waiver) by 11/1/2021. Remote work does not release you from the requirements for either employer (campus or health system). 00:50:51 Emily Langerak: University of Minnesota is basically same as Univ. of WI. 00:55:10 Emily Langerak: We are getting laptops for everyone who didn't previously have them. We are only providing ancillary equipment for one work station, even though most staff are hybrid. 00:56:43 SHERI L LAWRENCE: Univ of WI: Our current standard is laptops for everyone with docking station and up to 2 monitors for home. With remote work, we were able to share existing desktops on site and/or have docking stations/monitors. We're sharing desks. Those who had desktops previously still generally have them in the office. 01:01:46 Carol Cottrell: We are doing the same think Sherri. 01:05:34 SHERI L LAWRENCE: I've asked "leaders" (i.e., division administrators and central department team management) to be on-site at minimum 3-days per week. In part, I want them to set an example and in part I want them to be on-site for their rotating staff onsite schedules. Most staff are on site 2-3 days per week; however, we have a couple positions that are entirely remote. Main complaints for being onsite: commute time (and we're in Madison, WI) and cost of parking. 01:06:14 Karen Pyrz: Thank you! This was very informative. Appreciate everyone's comments. 01:06:43 SHERI L LAWRENCE: Really appreciate the panel concept here! Very helpful. Thank you!! 01:06:51 Emily Langerak: Thank you!
