2017 MPPDA Leadership in Med-Peds Award Recipient
Bradley J. Benson, MD
The Medicine-Pediatrics Program Directors Association (MPPDA) will be awarded to Bradley J. Benson, MD, at the 2017 MPPDA Leadership in Med-Peds Award during the APPD 2017 Annual Spring Meeting held April 4-5, 2017, at the Hilton Anaheim in Anaheim, CA. The MPPDA Leadership in Med-Peds Award is a new award given to a physician who has made significant contribution to medicine-pediatrics as a profession.
Dr. Benson is described as “unbelievably inspiring, a gifted teacher and down to earth.” His teaching style is encouraging and supporting to the junior faculty. Dr. Benson was awarded the “Early Distinguished career Alumni Award”. He also presented at the MPPDA annual meeting using a collection of poetry and techniques to inspire residents which can be used throughout their career.
Dr. Benson is currently the Director of the Division of Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota, where he also completed his internal medicine residency. He received his MD from the Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Dr. Benson completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL.
