CDIM Early Career Medical Student Educator Award Description and Criteria
About the Award
The CDIM Early Career Medical Student Educator Award is a new award that recognizes innovation and excellence in medical student education by a CDIM member at the instructor or assistant professor level. Areas of achievement may include leadership and scholarship in medical student education, teaching, or service to CDIM or AAIM. The award is presented annual at the CDIM National Meeting, part of Academic Internal Medicine Week.
The candidate must:
- Be a CDIM member
- Have demonstrated significant contributions to medical student education
Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by any member of AAIM (including APM, APDIM, ASP, AIM, or CDIM).
A nomination packet must include:
- A completed nomination form
- The nominee’s curriculum vitae
- One nomination letter
Nomination letters should address what significant contributions the nominee has made to the area of medical student education, leadership of medical student educational programs, scholarship in medical student education, teaching, or service to CDIM or AAIM.
All nominations will be reviewed by the CDIM Nominating Committee and approved by the CDIM Council. All nominations received will be considered for the year they are nominated as well as the following two years.
