On behalf of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM), thank you for your continued support of the association. I write to request nominations for 2009 CDIM Councilors.
Each year, two CDIM members are elected to the council for three-year terms. Each councilor has an important influence on CDIM’s agenda and productivity. Nominating qualified, active members for these positions, therefore, is one of the best ways CDIM members can participate in the association’s future.
The criteria for nomination for councilor are the individiual must be able to serve a three-year term (January 1, 2009-December 31, 2011), must be a member in good standing at the time of nomination, and must be an institutional or individual member.
According to the association’s bylaws, the president-elect and treasurer positions can only be filled by current members of the CDIM Council.
I strongly encourage you to nominate yourself or other qualified and active members for these positions. After considering the candidates, the 2008 nominating committee will prepare a slate of nominees. CDIM members will vote on this slate prior to the 2008 CDIM National Meeting. Please note that your dues must be current to vote in the CDIM election. I will announce the election results at the 2008 CDIM National Meeting, which will be held October 30-November 2, 2008 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
To nominate yourself or another CDIM member, please complete a nomination packet. Each packet should include a completed nomination form; a current curriculum vitae; and a letter of interest or support.
