The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) released a request for information (RFI) Friday, August 15, 2008, to collect ideas for the development of the AHRQ Innovations Research Portfolio. The aim of the portfolio is to identify and support research that will advance the organization, management, and delivery of healthcare in the United States. The deadline for comments is Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
According to AHRQ, the portfolio will fund a transformative research agenda that will include innovations the agency does not pursue currently. The RFI requests that submissions include specific strategies to foster innovative programs that address the shortcomings in healthcare delivery and organization as well as mechanisms for identifying potential partnerships to move these proposals forward.
Additional information on the portfolio is available on the AHRQ website .
