The AAIM Physician-Scientist Initiative seeks to identify, develop, and implement substantive and practical solutions that will ensure the survival, growth, and diversity of the physician-scientist workforce.
Currently, the initiative is expanding its efforts beyond internal medicine. The recently created AAIM Physician-Scientist Initiative Chairs Leadership Group is examining how leaders across the disciplines and across academia can share and disseminate "best practices" to support the growth of the physician-scientist workforce.
