Awards

Robert H. Williams, MD, Distinguished Chair of Medicine Award

The Robert H. Williams, MD, Distinguished Chair of Medicine Award is presented annually by APM to a physician who has demonstrated outstanding leadership as the chair of a department of internal medicine.

The 2008 Williams Award will be presented at the 2008 APM Winter Meeting, February 27-March 1, 2008, at the Four Seasons Miami in Miami, FL.

APM Special Recognition Award

The APM Special Recognition Award is presented annually to a “non-member” who has contributed most to helping the association meet its mission of providing “the primary leadership and direction to academic internal medicine, including education, research, and patient care.”

The 2007 Special Recognition Award recipient is F. Daniel Duffy, MD, Senior Advisor to the President of the American Board of Internal Medicine.


APM Diversity Award

The APM Diversity Award is presented to an individual who has effectively improved diversity within a medical school or who has worked to ensure patients of all races and ethnicities receive the highest quality of care.

The award was presented in its inaugural year at the 2007 APM Winter Meeting, February 28-March 3, 2007, at the Phoenician in Scottsdale, AZ.
