About AIM: Sponsorship
Industry and academia have a mutual interest in ensuring excellence in the training of scientists, educators, and the future leaders of the internal medicine community. AIM partners with organizations outside the academic medical and internal medicine communities to:
- Provide programs for its members,
- Disseminate information to departmental administrators and other faculty and staff.
- Continue improving the quality of internal medical education.
- Provide avenues for professional development to current and future leaders of academic internal medicine

AIM has partnered with several organizations to provide activities, programs, and initiatives designed to help departments of internal medicine meet their educational, research, and clinical care missions.
AAIM Executive Leadership Program
The Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM), of which AIM is a member, has developed a week-long professional development program for leaders of departments of internal medicine. The
AAIM Executive Leadership Program offers departmental faculty and staff opportunities to learn about strategy formulation and programming, leadership and change management, organizational management, financial management, and operations management.
Annual AIM Educational Conference
The annual educational conference provides administrators an opportunity to
examine matters of importance to managing a department of internal medicine.
This meeting also provides an opportunity to network with peers. Recent AIM
educational conferences have addressed improving billing procedures, navigating
legal issues, developing competitive faculty compensation plans, and
implementing strategic plans for clinical trials programs.
