Return to Volume 3, Issue 4 Table of Contents
At the end of October 2005, the hematology and oncology communities announced fellowship programs in these disciplines
would be reentering the Medical Specialties Matching Program (match) in 2006 to select fellows who will start in 2007. Hematology and oncology join gastroenterology as returnees to the match this year. The participation of all internal medicine subspecialties in Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Fellowships and the match is indicated in the Table.
Participation in ERAS Fellowships or the match by a subspecialty does not mean every program in that subspecialty will use these services. The websites of individual programs should disclose their status, and a centralized list of ERAS Fellowships participants is available online at www.aamc.org/eras. A list of match participants will be available in late winter or early spring.
Please visit the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine website at www.im.org/AAIM/PublicPolicy/SubspecERASMatch.htm for updates on the rollout of ERAS Fellowships and the match. If you have additional questions, please contact AAIM Vice President for Policy Charles Clayton at (202) 861-9351 or cclayton@im.org.
