The CDIM Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council shall consist of nine (9) members/officers as follows:
- Past Chair
- Chair
- Chair-Elect
- Four Councilors At-Large
- Two Alternate Councilors At-Large
Councilors at-large serve a two-year term unless nominated to Chair-Elect.
If nominated as Chair-Elect, they are expected to fulfill the term that office requires.
The CDIM Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council members, including alternates, shall meet at the request of the Chair (by conference call or in-person sessions during national meetings). These meetings will serve to act on behalf of the administrator membership to further the goals of the group.
The Past Chair...
...shall serve on the CDIM National Meeting Planning Committee.
...shall serve as Chair of the Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council Nominating Committee.
The Chair...
...shall plan the annual Precourse for Clerkship Administrators and ensure that clerkship
administrators assist and/or participate in workshops presented at the annual meeting.
... shall prepare the agenda and preside at meetings of the Clerkship Administrators
Advisory Council.
... shall coordinate CDIM-sponsored activities for clerkship administrators.
... shall consult with other members to facilitate the orderly conduct of the Council's activities.
... shall communicate clerkship administrators' interests, concerns, and positions to
the CDIM Council.
... shall disseminate the "Position Description for the Clerkship Administrator" in the best
interests of the clerkship administrator membership.
... shall ensure clerkship administrators participate in the planning of the national meeting.
... will report the actions of the Council to clerkship administrator members at the annual meeting
and/or as appropriate throughout their term of office.
The Chair-Elect ...
...will have served as a member on the current or past Clerkship Administrators
Advisory Council.
... shall serve in the place of the Chair when necessary.
... shall record Council meeting minutes.
... shall actively participate in the Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council activities
and national meetings.
The Councilors and Alternates At-Large...
...shall be responsible for facilitating workshops at the annual meeting.
...shall encourage and mentor new members.
...shall encourage and foster growth of the administrators within the CDIM organization.
...must be CDIM dues-paying Associate Members.
The CDIM Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council Nominating Committee
shall consist of:
- Past Chair of the CDIM Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council, who will serve as Chair of this committee.
- Current Chair of the Nominating Committee who will remain as an ex officio member to maintain consistency.
- Two eligible Associate Members (Administrators) who will serve for one year.
The Nominating Committee...
...shall be elected by the Administrators membership at the annual meeting from a slate presented by the previous Nominating Committee.
...will be empowered to function from the close of the annual meeting at which it is elected through the subsequent election.
...will solicit qualified candidates to fill all positions including seats on the Nominating Committee, secure their consent to serve if elected and present a slate, in writing, to the Administrators membership at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting.
The annual slate...
...shall provide at least one nominee for each open position on the Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council, as well as the two Nominating Committee positions.
...will be distributed to all eligible administrators. CDIM Administrators will vote, by mail ballot, on this slate prior to the Annual National Meeting.
The criteria for nomination to the CDIM Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council includes:
Chair-Elect:
- Dues-paying member of CDIM
- Current or past Clerkship Administrators Advisory Council member
- Active participation in council activities
At-large and Alternate Councilors:
- Dues-paying associate member of CDIM
- Active participation in council activities
No current member of the Nominating Committee may be nominated for office.
